For the purposes of UK GDPR, JoinSquad is the data controller for personal data collected through this platform.

Data We Collect

Shooters (registered users who book clay pigeon shooting squads)
  • Name and email address (provided at registration)
  • Booking history — including shooting ground, shoot date, and squad time
  • IP address (collected indirectly via Google Analytics)
Ground Admins (shooting grounds who subscribe to the platform)
  • Name and email address
  • Shooting ground name and subdomain
  • Billing information — payment is processed by Stripe. We do not store or have access to your card details.

How Long We Keep Your Data

If you request deletion of your account, your personal data will be removed within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law (for example, financial records under HMRC requirements).

We do not sell your personal data to any third parties and we do not use your data for advertising purposes.

Service Update & News Emails

From time to time we send registered users occasional emails about JoinSquad itself — new features, improvements, and platform announcements. We send these on the basis of our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) UK GDPR) in keeping users informed about the platform they use; we do not use these emails for third-party advertising.

You can object to and stop these emails at any time, with no effect on your account or your bookings:

  • Turn off "Receive JoinSquad updates & news" in My Profile (Ground Admins: in Booking Configuration > Your JoinSquad Account); or
  • Click the unsubscribe link in the footer of any update email; or
  • Email us at hello@joinsquad.co.uk.

Operational emails that are necessary to run your account and bookings — such as booking confirmations, cancellations, and reminders — are separate and are covered above.

Your Rights Under UK GDPR

Under UK GDPR, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right of access — you may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Right to rectification — you may ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Right to erasure — you may ask us to delete your data (subject to legal obligations to retain certain records).
  • Right to restriction — you may ask us to restrict the processing of your data in certain circumstances.
  • Right to data portability — you may request your data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format.
  • Right to object — you may object to processing based on legitimate interests, including our service update and news emails, which you can switch off at any time.
  • Right to withdraw consent — where processing is based on your consent (e.g. analytics), you may withdraw that consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.

Right to Complain to the ICO

If you believe we have not handled your personal data in accordance with UK GDPR, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) — the UK's data protection supervisory authority. You can contact the ICO at ico.org.uk or by calling 0303 123 1113. We would, however, appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns before you contact the ICO.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post a notice on the JoinSquad platform and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
