Quick Start

If you just want to book your first shoot, follow these steps.

Find a Ground

On the homepage you can choose a shooting ground and view its calendar.

• Click the ground you want to visit.
• Look for available dates on the calendar.
• CPSA registered days are shown with a CPSA badge.
• If a ground is private, you will need the access code provided by that ground.

Choose a Slot

Each shoot day is split into squads. A squad is a time slot with a fixed number of spaces.

• Open a date to see all squad times.
• Use the booked count to see how many spaces are already taken.
• Click Book Space when a squad has availability.
• Weather icons and temperatures may appear next to squad times if the ground has added its postcode.
• Past squads are shown as completed and cannot normally be booked.

Book as a Guest

If the ground allows guest bookings, you can book without creating an account.

Details you may need

• First name and last name: used on the booking list and score sheets.
• Email address: used for confirmation emails and ground communication.
• CPSA number: needed on many CPSA registered days unless you are booking as unclassified.
• Booking type: on CPSA days, choose Competition or Targets Only when those options are offered.

CPSA Days

CPSA registered days may ask for a little more information than a normal practice shoot.

• Enter your CPSA number if you have one.
• JoinSquad may look up your classification and show it beside your booking.
• Choose Competition or Targets Only if the ground offers those choices.
• If you are unclassified, use the unclassified option when it is available.
• The same CPSA number cannot be booked more than once on the same CPSA day.

Emails & Reminders

• After booking, you should receive a confirmation email if you entered an email address.
• The email includes the ground, date, time, and booking details.
• If the ground has reminders enabled, you may receive a reminder around 24 hours before the shoot.
• The ground may also send important updates by email, such as time changes or event instructions.

Privacy

Grounds can choose to blur surnames on the public booking calendar.

• Your first name may still be visible so the squad list is useful.
• Your surname may be blurred or partly hidden from other visitors.
• The ground admin can still see full booking details.
• If you create an account later, your own bookings are easier for you to identify and manage.

Duplicate Warnings

JoinSquad tries to prevent accidental double-bookings.

• For normal guest bookings, it may warn if the same name or email already has a booking on that day.
• For CPSA days, the same CPSA number is blocked from booking twice on the same day.
• If you intentionally need more than one booking, read the warning carefully before continuing.

Full Squads

If a squad is full, what you can do depends on the ground's settings.

Waitlist available

You may see Add me to the Waitlist. Enter your details and JoinSquad will record that you are waiting for a space.

Auto-fill

If the ground has auto-fill enabled, you may be automatically moved into the squad if a space opens before the cutoff time.

Notify admin

If waitlists are not enabled, you may still be able to tell the ground you are interested in a full squad.

Private Grounds

Some grounds are private or invite-only. If you open a private ground, you will be asked for an access code.

• The access code is provided by the ground, not by JoinSquad.
• Enter the code to view that ground's calendar.
• If the code does not work, contact the ground directly.

Why Register?

You can view and sometimes book as a guest, but creating an account gives you more control.

• Manage and cancel your own bookings.
• Join waitlists more easily.
• Receive booking reminders when the ground has them enabled.
• See your upcoming and past bookings in your profile.
• Save your CPSA number and view your classifications when available.

Common Questions

Can I cancel a guest booking?

Guest bookings are harder to manage yourself because they are not attached to an account. Contact the ground if you need help. Registered users can manage their own bookings from their profile.

Why can I not book a space?

The squad may be full, the shoot may be in the past, or the ground may require registered users only.

Why do I need a CPSA number?

CPSA registered shoots often need your CPSA number so the ground can manage classifications and avoid duplicate CPSA bookings on the same day.

Why is a surname blurred?

The ground has chosen to hide surnames on the public calendar for privacy.

Where is my confirmation email?

Check your junk or spam folder. If the email address was typed incorrectly, contact the ground.
